Happy Spring

March 24, 2015 By Isvari

Happy Spring
Spring is here!

Happy Spring! With the spring energy all around, I have been doing some serious cleaning. I have been cleaning up cobwebs and making space in my closets, my body and my relationships. I am on week 3 of no sugar (that means no lemon drop martinis) and I feel so clear! I have spent these weeks with a lot more energy, which I have used to clean out my closets and all my drawers.

On the mat, I am opening up old patterning in my body, especially in places where the energy tends to get stuck such as the pelvis, heart and belly, and the throat. The new Bowspring alignment is perfect for retraining the nervous system to expand in possibilities instead of contracting in fear.

But most of my work this quarter has revolved around cleaning up some of my relationships and clearing up space. In the past, I would have let these relationships dissolve awkwardly or put them out on the curb with my bellbottom yoga pants. I certainly would not have faced the ghosts in the closet by addressing them. I know that if I feel disempowered in a relationship, there is some old dirt under the rug that needs to emerge. And that is exactly what I have been doing. It took a lot of courage in the beginning but with every conversation the relationship blossomed. As a result I am feeling powerful, free and self-expressed after cleaning up and clearing my space with people for the last couple of months. Mostly, I feel connected where previously there was disconnect.

What relationships are you not feeling empowered in? If there is place in your life where you feel disempowered, it unfortunately is reflected in all areas of your life and not simply isolated to that one particular area as I use to think. That said, perhaps there is spring cleaning to be done in your domain. As new beginnings emerge with the onset of Spring, this is the perfect time for some house keeping. You can clean up the closets, cut out the sugar, get on the mat and get in communication. You will feel lighter on the beach this Spring Break. I know I will.

Blessings,
Isvari

Isvari Verre E-RYT 500

IsvariMy passion is to help people transform their lives through posture, attitude, lifestyle and nutrition.

I combine yoga, nutrition, Ayurveda, and spirituality to attain the optimum balance for my individual clients. I offer nutritional and spiritual counseling, postural alignment consultations and private yoga therapy instruction. I lead juicing classes and detoxes on a regular basis. Whether you are just beginning your journey to health, or have been on the path for lifetimes, I can help.

As a Postural Alignment Specialist, I have helped hundreds of people with their misalignment and injuries and every day posture. Whether you have a problem with your back, knee or shoulder, you can get relief and great insight with one session. You will leave with knowledge  about how to immediately optimize your posture on and off the mat, help alleviate imbalances in the nervous system, and become aware of how to realign lifelong postural imbalances.

I have had the good fortune to have trained extensively with master teachers Paul Muller Ortega, John Friend and Swami Jaya Devi, accumulating thousands of hours as a devoted student. I pride myself on living the teachings of yoga, not simply studying them.

When I am not mentoring or teaching the teachers, I manage and market my silk pillowcase company, Silks by Isvari , and have my hands full with 3 beautiful and intense teenagers.

The unique combination of experience I draw from includes E-RYT500 with Yoga Alliance, Yoga Therapist, Ayurveda Health Coach and an M.S. in Nutrition Education from NYU. I also have an MBA in International Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. I have training in Thai Massage as well as Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. What makes me unique is that I bring all my training and practices into everything I do, creating a sacred experience for my clients.

Dad’s Passing

March 1, 2014 By Isvari

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMy dad passed on March 15, Ides of March. My mom and siblings were by his side with my hand on his heart.  I practiced experiencing death as a yogi and the beautiful completion of a cycle while simultaneously feeling its pain and attachment to his form as a daughter. I was imagining something much more dramatic but in Dad’s case he simply closed his eyes after a long battle with Parkinson’s where his condition continued to deteriorate. I watched the prana drain from his hands and feet and work its way inward and up. We spent his final 2 days telling stories, praying and listening to music. When we played his and mom’s wedding song, Love is a Many Splendid Thing, he completely responded if only with his heart. It is only now kicking in and I have found myself in a little funk.

I am once again tapping into the impermanence of life and all its preciousness. We have to look out again and again and see all our treasures that are immediately in front of us.
We already are all that we are searching for.

Have You Heard about Atlanta Yoga Collective?

January 7, 2013 By Isvari

One of the bright stars that mysteriously emerged from the muck of 2012 (and remember the deeper the muck the brighter the light on the other side, which means I should be glowing in the dark right about now) is the collaborative efforts of Atlanta’s newest yoga boutique that seems to have manifested out of thin air. Have you heard about …..The Yoga Collective?

This is a collaborative effort with me, (IsvariYoga) and two other fabulous teachers, Gina Minyard and Cheryl Crawford that gracefully came into fruition after a fall weekend in North Carolina studying with Paul Muller-Ortego.  We are all E-RYT500 under Yoga Alliance and trained significantly in Anusara Yoga.  Our classes integrate dynamic alignment principles and skillful sequencing in a thematic heart opening flow which inevitably allows the student to playfully and gracefully unlock a greater potential within themselves. We also offer advanced practices, Therapeutics, Beginning Yoga, Teacher’s Trainings and Training’s for Teachers.

At the Yoga Collective, we believe that together we are stronger.  We all have our own gifts each individual and unique and we inspire each other to continue to grow on and off the mat. We are dedicated and passionate about our continued evolution and helping each other tap into increasingly deeper potential.  2013 is about doing it Collectively! We hope you will join us for our engaging and transformational practices.

We are conveniently located near Tara Cinema at 1085 Alco Street, Atlanta. Check out our schedule.

We currently have a new student special, 3 classes for $20. My classes are Sundays at 11 Level 1/2. Tuesday Therapeutics at 5:30 pm; Tuesdays Level 1/2 at 6:45 pm and Wednesdays 9:30 am level 1.
